FHIR Terminology Services
The HL7® FHIR® (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources) standard defines how healthcare information can be exchanged between different computer systems regardless of how it is stored in those systems.
A FHIR terminology service defines standard operations, providing access to Code Systems, Value Sets and Concept Maps. These services support common use cases such as concept lookup, code validation, set membership and translation between a source and target concept.
Symedical® on FHIR® is Clinical Architecture’s implementation of the HL7 FHIR Terminology Service specification. It provides a FHIR-based set of services customers can use to gain access to Clinical Architecture’s terminology and ontology assets maintained in Symedical.
It’s about leveraging standards to deliver interoperable systems.
It’s about shielding the implementor from the underlying complexities of FHIR-based CodeSystems.
